Crochet 101: Dishcloth Pattern

For those of you who have been through the whole tutorial: CONGRATULATIONS! You made it! Below you will find the full pattern for the dishcloth you have been working on so you can make it over and over again.

For EVERYONE: The cloth pictured is using Sugar and Cream Summerfield Ombre. I have only been able to find this in the big 14 oz cone. While it is a beautiful color, you will not need NEARLY that whole cone of yarn.

BEGINNER’S TEXTURED STRIPE DISHCLOTH

Materials: Any 100% cotton yarn about 114 yards (kitchen style cotton is recommended), US H/8 (5mm) hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 13 single crochet x 14 rows =4″ (10cm)

Abbreviations: ch =chain, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet

Instructions:

Chain 41

Row 1: sc across.

Row 2: dc across.

Rows 3-26: Repeat rows 1 and 2

Row 27: sc across. Fasten off and tuck tails.
